LILAC KNOLL
Welcome

ABOUT
ABOUT THE KNOLL

In 1840 farmer Alvin Hopson's house was built on a small knoll at the southern border of Pittsford Village.
For the past fifty years or so Fletcher Steele’s lilacs have framed the view.
Hence: Lilac Knoll or sometimes The Knoll for short.
While a street name and number may suit the needs of the post office or Google Maps, a home deserves a name. And once there’s a name, how about a logo, a website, a coffee table book, maybe a line of official merchandise, an engraved boulder.
It never stops.
And it all enhances the historical reality and the manufactured mythology of Lilac Knoll.
